I’m not new to blogging, in fact, have been doing it since 2009 (that’s like almost pre-Internet boom!). After creating one of the top personal finance websites in Canada and selling it in 2012 because of the intense workload of graduate level education and simultaneous work (and a disintegrating long term relationship), I continued on as a writer for the blog and recently stopped in 2017 as the owners of the blog wanted to have a different voice/ direction for the blog.
Since 2009, I have always kept involved in the personal finance world because I am passionate about personal finance, and I think it will always be a part of me (because it makes me who I am, and in fact is what drew my husband and I together in the first place- namely, our passion for Warren Buffett), so I thought I would take another stab at creating another website and continue on with connecting with readers and others involved in the personal finance world.
I created the website in 2009 to keep myself accountable with my net worth updates, my dividend updates, and although I continue to keep record of my updates, I feel more accountable when I share it with others, and hope that with my sharing it motivates others to achieve their own personal finance goals.
Sometimes, post-2012, I missed having a blog and sometimes I didn’t mind just writing, because having website honestly took up a lot of my time. I think, this time around, I’ll take it easy (after all, I have a newborn to look after soon) and give less pressure to myself, while still allowing myself this introverted outlet to write and create.
Here we go!
